ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your prescription to provide for our migratory bird population. We have been looking for some local direction on bird friendly environments in Vancouver with little success...until now.
With some of your advice we are going to try our best to "cat proof" our back yard and position the feeders and water as close to our mature trees. Tired of fighting for a middle class lawn, I am happy to launch some new ground cover to save me from the labour of weeding and mowing.
BTW, you may want to make mention of Jonathan Franzen's latest book as an accompaniment to your local knowledge and impetus to create some bird friendly zones.
